It is that time of the year again - Hacktober.
Hacktoberfest is a yearly event encouraging people to contribute to open source in October. It's a celebration of community, learning, and giving back.
Giving back to open source projects by contributing can be a great way to learn, practice skills, and meet new people by working together on projects you enjoy using.
You don't always have to write code to be part of Hacktoberfest. There are many other ways you can contribute to open source, writing documentation, testing out features and bugs, or triaging issues for project maintainers.
I would argue these tasks are sometimes more valuable to projects and maintainers—a great way to familiarize yourself with the project.
To start, register as part of Hacktoberfest 2022 here
Rules are pretty simple, in October, you have to get four PRs submitted/merged to open source projects. Also, your Tublian profile will automatically get updated.
A great month to build your streetcred 🚀
